You might not think of downhill skiing in terms of trails, but just consider them trails on a real slope that have a lift going up. There are a number of distinct downhill areas in Ontario. In the southern part of the province, you'll find a group of resorts in the snowbelt around Barrie, Collingwood, Muskoka, Haliburton and Huronia.
There are also noted ski hills near Ottawa and north of Superior in the Thunder Bay region. Most of these resorts also have trails for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling nearby, so you can enjoy a variety of winter activities in one location.
