Bird's Creek Trail

The Birds Creek Park Community Committee in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands wishes to promote hiking and cycling in Birds Creek Park. Birds Creek Park consists of two adjacent municipally owned properties fronting onto South Baptiste Lake Road.

Birds Creek Park is 7.97 (19.68 ac) in size with the majority of the 3.36 ha (8.29 ac) lot and the southern third of the 4.61 ha (11.39 ac) lot consisting of numerous sport fields, recreational areas, buildings, and parking areas. A wooded and natural open area covers the remaining portions of these two lots and extends north to Bird Creek. Some existing trails wind through the naturally open and wooded areas.

A total of 814 m of trails were mapped throughout the forested and natural open area. The existing trails consist of one long linear trail accessing Bird Creek at the most northern point. From this linear trail a second trail loops back before the descent to Bird Creek.

A third trail extends westerly from the end of the linear trail and accesses the property to the west. With the exception of the one access point to Bird Creek at the end of the linear trail, no other access or view of Bird Creek is provided. The linear trail and the trail that loops back are clear, free of debris and show light use by ATV.

For more information refer to both the Bird's Creek Map and the Detailed Plan for trails at Bird's Creek Park.
