Cross-country skiing

Throughout the winter there are 12 km of trails marked for cross-country skiing with up to 8km of track setting done when there is enough snowfall. There are both easy slopes for novices on the Big Salmon Lake Road ski trail and sharp curves for more experienced skiers on the Corridor Trail. Check out the winter trail guide for more information.

In addition to the track-set trails, many areas have a rugged ambiance we like to call “backcountry skiing.” Breathe in the crisp air and revel in the natural solitude as you ski through a silent winter forest.

Friends of Frontenac Park is part of a growing network of independent cooperating associations which believe strongly in wise use and management of Ontario's provincial parks.

Cooperating associations provide opportunities for young and old alike to participate in planning, education and interpretation activities organized in cooperation with Ontario Parks staff.

Friends organizations allow visitors to take the extra step in "giving back" to the park in time, effort, sharing and concern
