Abstract: ORCKA is the voice of recreational canoeing in Ontario. They offer skills training for all levels of canoe or kayak learners. Be sure to join and support ORCKA as they promote safer outdoor experiences and professional water trail skill proficiency.

You are invited to register for canoeing skills training with a group of teachers.

The overnight canoe trip and skills training will take place Tuesday August 30 to Saturday September 3, 2016. Rob Chassels is assembling a group of educators who have the prerequisites to complete this ORCKA Canoe Tripping Level 3 Instructors Course.

Prerequisites

1. ORCKA Canoe Tripping Level 2, Canadian Style Paddling Level 1 and River Running Level 1A (Tandem) or Moving Water Level 1A (Tandem), equivalent certification or comparable skills and experience (with the permission of the Course Director)

2. Evidence of at least 25 nights of wilderness canoe tripping experience; wilderness

Canoe tripping distances totalling 500 km: at least 6 canoe trips in which the candidate was responsible for some of the organisation and leadership and at least one wilderness trip of 5 days or more.
