Approximately 3 hour guided paddling trip, horseback ride and shamanic journey in East Haliburton Highlands at the Southern tip of Algonquin Park. Our journey begins with meeting your group at our launch site and acknowledging the Ancestors. Then everyone will be placed into two groups: Paddlers & Riders.
Paddlers will join an experienced Naturalist Guide, from Deep Roots Adventure, for a 3 km paddling adventure along the winding York River, learning about the amazing flora, fauna and history of the area. Beginner paddlers will have an opportunity for basic instruction during the trip. Riders will join an Experienced Equestrian, of long-established South Algonquin Trails, on a guided 4 km horseback ride through the beautiful forest. You’ll fall in love with the horses – amazing Creature Teachers! Both groups will merge at High Falls where all will enjoy a sumptuous and surprisingly glamp trail lunch. Menus will be sent out ahead of time and special dietary needs can be met. While enjoying high falls, Shaman, Karen Warner (Moon Beam), Creator of Spirit of the Waterfalls, will sing, drum & guide the inner adventure, deepening participants’ connection with the Ancestors & the Earth, in particular, the Water Spirits. For the journey back, the groups switch – paddlers ride & riders paddle! This is a high-end dream journey for paddlers & riders of all levels of experience! Lunch, all necessary equipment, and permits are included. Minimum group size is 4, minimum age 6. Don’t forget to bring along your swimsuit and towel!
