Hi all!

The Fall Ripper is happening this coming Sunday, September 29th, and I have some good news and some not so good news. The good news is that I got the day off work, so I would love to lead a women’s ride of the Turkey Point trails.  The not so good news is that in my post-night shift zombie state I haven’t had a chance to pre-ride the route, so we may be in for a few surprises on Sunday. The route is ~23-27km, and the pace will be RELAXED!! If you are looking for a faster ride, then maybe the intermediate group at 10:30 or the advanced ride at 9:30 will be more up your alley.

The women’s ride is not a beginner ride, and you should have some level of fitness to successfully complete it. If you’ve been riding regularly this summer, you will no trouble. The course will be a mix of single track, gravel road, paved road and some double track, and will take us all over the TPMBC trail system. There will be a couple of natural cut-out points if you don’t want to continue, but it will be a slow-moving pace, re-grouping after every trail, and no riders will be dropped. We will stick to green and blue trails with only one partial black trail that has one technical feature with a bypass option. You will need to ensure you have enough water and energy to last you between 2-3 hours, and I’ll try to have water available at the half-way point. It will be a challenging but achievable ride, and I hope you’ll join me!

Please be at Long Point Eco Adventures, registered and ready to ride at 10:00 a.m. We will leave LPEA at ~10:10. Just a reminder, all riders must be registered ($10 cash upon arrival at LPEA, no official pre-registration required). We’ll aim to be back before 1 p.m. to enjoy the music, food and beer! And don’t forget about the Fat Bike raffle at 2 p.m.! For the official event poster, check out

Who’s with me? (If you are interested, could you please send me an email or comment on the Facebook post? I won’t hold you to it, but I am just curious on the number of people that may show up. Thanks!)This year's Ripper and LOST shirts, hot off the presses. You've seen it here first!“I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle; I want to ride my bicycle; I want to ride my bike; I want to ride my bicycle; I want to ride it where I like…; I don’t believe in Peter Pan, Frankenstein or Superman; All I wanna do is bicycle, bicycle, bicycle…”

Keep in touch and see you on the trails!
