Description
Join the Mississauga Urban Hikers on a community forest walk. This community forest walk will introduce you to the basics of hiking, teach you how to identify common trees and discuss how climate change is affecting our city. This event is perfect for those with little to no hiking experience. Newcomers, youth, seniors and BIPOC community members are encouraged to come out!
We will meet at the Forest Glen Community Garden. Parking is available beside the garden at Glen Forest Secondary School. The hike will be very low difficultly consisting of flat paved trails and sidewalks. The total hike time is estimated at 45 minutes. In addition, along the hike we will have stops to interpret the local forest. With the additional time for these stops the event will end at 7:30PM.
Transit reimbursement available for those who need it.
We acknowledge the Canada Healthy Communities Initiative's funding which supports this event as part of the Forest Glen Community Garden Project.
