The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is the largest land management agency in Ontario. The Ministry manages many areas that have trails. This includes Provincial Parks and other Crown Lands.
These areas are used for recreation, environmental preservation and protection, harvesting practices or utility needs. In many cases, trail users require permission to use these managed lands which are supervised and regulated.
The OTC has worked with the MNR to produce a series of guidelines on event planning (you need a permit) and safe responsible land use and access practices.
