Welcome to the Coastal Trail! We are working hard to bring you the best trail in the area.
The Coastal Trail ranges a total distance of 2.8 km. return. The trail is a footpath with minimal grades and several good asphalt yardages of the former Hwy 17.
There are lots of benefits to our trail:
- an accessible foot path for those with mobility concerns
- maintaining an active life style .
- excellent vantage point for observing water, birds and landscapes that unfold on the north shore
- create employment for summer student
- public understanding, enjoyment and appreciation for preserving the beauty and natural landscapes
- economic development.
Rossport Tourism Association are researching the opportunity to enhance the existing coastal trail from the east end of Rossport (Wardrope Park) to the Rossport Roadside Park.
The RTA’s aim is to provide residents and visitors a wilderness trail, alongside the magnificent shores of Lake Superior, a walking, snowshoeing pathway linking the scenic village of Rossport, onwards to the Rossport roadside Park while promoting healthy lifesyles.
It is also our long term goal to have the trail extend to the Rainbow Park Falls-Rossport Campground. (5 km one way).
We would welcome your support!
