Hiawatha Highlands in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is a wonderful destination for the public in the Spring, Summer, and Fall; however, in the Winter, Hiawatha Highlands is covered under land use agreements for the use of trail pass holders only.
Please respect these restrictions. The trails are rented for paying cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike customers from November to April, and fees collected from these customers are used to help maintain the trail systems throughout the year.
In the winter, foot traffic and dog tracks damage the groomed trails and can cause serious injuries to customers of all ages and abilities, including the elderly, recreational skiers and elite athletes.
Walking
During the Winter season, walkers are required to use alternate trails such as Wishart Park, Strathclair Park, Elliot Park, Bellevue Park, Clergue Park, Odena trail and of course the Dog Park
Thank you for not trespassing and damaging the trails this winter at Hiawatha Highlands.
