Mallard Pond Trail at Luther Marsh

The mallard pond trail starts 3 km south of the main entrance on Side Road 21 and includes a 1.6 km grassed path to Luther Lake and a scenic 2.4 km loop around the Mallard Pond. Some parts may be rough or muddy and it is most enjoyable in late summer or fall. The Luther Marsh Wildlife Management Area is more than a significant reservoir at the headwaters of the Grand River watershed.

Luther represents a joint effort between man and nature to restore and maintain different habitats for flora and fauna. The task at hand is to balance protection and human use of this unique and provincially significant resource. A biological treasure tucked away in the upper reaches of the valley of the Grand River, Luther Marsh is one of southern Ontario's most significant wetlands. It is jointly owned and managed by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and the Grand River Conservation Authority.

Directions: From Hwy #89 travel south to Dufferin County Rd. 15. Head west to Monticello, then south 3.0 km. to the main entrance From #109 travel north through Grand Valley to East Luther Concession 6/7, then head west. That road will lead to the main entrance. Information provided by the Grand Valley Conservation website.
