Marathon boasts an extensive network of trails in and around town.
These trails are used as shortcuts to get to school or work, as thoroughfares for snow machines, and as leisure trails for hiking or mountain biking.
Here are some that you might want to tackle: Carden Cove Trail Length 2 km - Intermediate Located on the coast of Lake Superior, Carden Cove offers excellent vistas of Marathon Harbour, Marathon Pulp, and scenic views of Blondin and Hawkins Islands.

The coastal trail is an intermediate level hike that meanders through sections of black spruce, Labrador Tea, dense ground cover of sphagnum moss and along driftwood littered beaches.
