Madoc's Off Leash Dog Park is operating from May to November weather permitting...the main park is opened and ready to go An area for small dogs is pr…
The idea for Madoc's Off-Leash Dog Park began once a written proposal was sent to the Madoc Council by Emily Lederer. She is a young girl interested in having a safe place for her dogs to run off leash and socialize with other dogs. Emily also wanted other dog owners to come out and be able to socialize with other dog owners. In the proposal, Emily laid out ideas on how to raise funds, explained the importance for socializing our dog(s) to help make our community a better place.
The Municipality has donated 3 acres of land off of Burnside Road for our Park (behind the storage units off of Hill Street). We are planning to have 2 fenced sections to the park for large and small breeds, along with a parking lot.
If you are planning on becoming a member of our Park, we ask that your dog(s) are up to date on their shots (rabies). We also advise that you have your dog vaccinated with Kennel Cough in order for our dogs to be able to play safely together.
How you can help:
- Attend our monthly meetings on the 3rd Thursday of every month at the Madoc Arts Centre at 6:30 pm
- Support us at our fundraisers throughout the community. Like us on FaceBook to find out about our next one
- Donate items to be used at the park - Garbage bins, picnic tables, benches etc
- Have your business sponsor the Park and have your sign on our fence to help advertise for you!
We look forward to meeting you and your dog(s) at our future fundraising events until the Park is built. We need our communities support!
