Rail Trails

Rail Trails - header image

Ontario Rail Trails are former rail beds that have been turned into trail-ways. Ontario rail trails have gradual slopes, wide trail beds and are often multi and shared use.

Most if not all of Ontario Rail Trails are in the public domain, meaning they are owned and operated by public bodies, such as counties or districts.

The Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail is the most awarded as well as newest Ontario Rail Trail.
