Rideau Trail

The Rideau Trail is the longest trail in Eastern Ontario, extending from Kingston to Ottawa. The trail follows the route of the Rideau Canal as closely as possible and passes through the towns of Richmond, Smiths Falls, Perth, and Westport.

The Ottawa section of the trail begins along the shore of the Ottawa River within sight of the Parliament Buildings and many other Ottawa landmarks.

The trail traverses a variety of landscapes including urban pathways, forests, waterways, farmland, country trails, and Rideau Canal lock stations, offering users the opportunity to experience both the natural and cultural treasures of the region.
